I wake up in the morning and all is well,
The day is fresh and new;
But it isn’t long before the enemy comes
And tries to pull me away from You.
I immediately sense this spiritual war
And I know what I have to do—
I kneel and pray and face the day
And entrust this battle to You.
After drinking Your word and singing Your praise
I set out with an eternal view;
So no matter the darts that are thrown my way,
I know my victory is established in You.
As the day goes on, whether weak or strong,
You graciously carry me through.
I am running this race as long as it takes
Till You finally bring me home to You.
And in the night of life, in spite of the strife,
You alone were Faithful and True.
I’ll look back and see how You were always with me
And my crown I’ll lay down before You.
